Advancing Eyecare is proud to celebrate our CEO, Jim McGrann, who has been named the 2026 Person of Vision by Prevent Blindness, one of the most respected honors in the eye care industry.
The annual Person of Vision Award recognizes individuals whose leadership and vision have helped advance eye health and champion the importance of healthy vision in everyday life. Jim was selected by a volunteer committee of industry leaders for his decades-long commitment to the vision industry and his dedication to improving access to eye care.
A Career Dedicated to Vision Care
With more than 40 years of experience across the vision and healthcare industries, Jim has built a career defined by leadership, innovation, and service. Throughout his career, he has held leadership roles across several organizations in the vision care ecosystem, including VSP Vision Care, Marchon, and Professional Eye Care Associates of America (PECAA).
Today, as CEO of Advancing Eyecare, Jim leads the organization in its mission to support eye care professionals through advanced technology, clinical insight, and practice solutions designed to improve both operational efficiency and the patient experience.
Beyond his role at Advancing Eyecare, Jim has also been an active advocate for the broader vision care community. He currently serves as Vice Chair of The Vision Council and has contributed to the industry through board leadership and advisory roles across multiple organizations.
A Longstanding Commitment to Prevent Blindness
Jim’s connection to Prevent Blindness runs deep. He has been a longtime volunteer and supporter of the organization, serving as Chair of the Prevent Blindness Board of Directors and contributing to several committees and fundraising initiatives that support the organization’s sight-saving mission.
Prevent Blindness, the nation’s leading nonprofit patient advocacy organization dedicated to preventing blindness and preserving sight, works to improve vision health through education, advocacy, public health programs, and research initiatives.
According to Prevent Blindness President and CEO Jeff Todd, Jim’s leadership has played an important role in helping guide the organization’s growth and expanding its impact on eye health across the country.
Celebrating Vision Expo and the Person of Vision Gala
Jim will officially be honored at the 2026 Prevent Blindness Person of Vision Award Gala, taking place on March 11, 2026, at the Hyatt Regency Orlando, in conjunction with Vision Expo. The event brings together leaders from across the vision care industry to celebrate innovation, collaboration, and advocacy while raising funds to support Prevent Blindness programs.
All proceeds from the gala support the organization’s ongoing efforts to expand access to eye care, educate the public about vision health, and advance programs designed to prevent vision loss.
Looking Ahead
At Advancing Eyecare, we believe the future of eye care depends on collaboration across the entire vision care ecosystem, from clinicians and manufacturers to advocacy organizations and industry partners.
Jim’s recognition as the 2026 Prevent Blindness Person of Vision reflects not only his leadership, but also the collective commitment of the eye care community to improving patient outcomes and expanding access to quality vision care.
We are proud to celebrate this well-deserved honor and grateful for Jim’s continued leadership in advancing the future of eye care.
